Mother's Day

I often think that Mother's Day is just as much reflecting on the privilege of being a mother, as being honored as one. 

This picture is from a recent birthday; here is the guy whose children I am mother to, and our kiddos. 

Every day as Mother is unique; new challenges, new joys, new growth. I make many mistakes, but hopefully our children will also have many good memories from these, their childhood years. 

Today I had a great breakfast made by my hubby and one of the older boys. The girls and little boys got to take a long bike ride with their dad, and I took a leisurely walk with the dog. 

I received a couple darling school-made gifts (a pin and a keychain) and a beautiful plant.

And as I write, a Mother's Day cake is being made by my Miss Baker and her Chief Helper. 

And my Miss Creative just whipped up a beautiful pop-up flower card. 

Yes, it's an honor to be a mom!

Toffee ... 

(Was sleeping!!)

Just weighed the dog -- 6.7 kg. It's grown bigger than we thought it was, but sure isn't growing fat (yet.) :) It listens well to basic commands like sit, lay, roll over ... but not well to commands like 'come' and 'drop it'. We're not such great teachers. But Toffee does not lack attention!
